Oregon Fruit’s B2B (Berry to Brewer) Fermentation Channel Advertisement
After connecting with Oregon Fruit while filming an episode of Mario Lopez’s cooking show, FoodQuest, they reached out to produce a short ad spot targeted toward brewers using fruit purees in their brews. The biggest pain point was that filming Oregon berry farms would require waiting till fall when berries were ripe, and we needed this video, well, now.
That’s why we turned to stock footage. We’re a Shutterstock, Getty, and Storyblocks contributor, so we know firsthand the caliber of footage that we could access on these platforms. It’s always our first choice to film our own shots, so we have the most specific option and post-production flexibility. For this project, however, stock footage made the most sense because our timeline didn’t allow us to shoot farms when farms were in bloom, and the altered dream-state of our talent lends itself well to heavy effects and distortions in post. Since we’re altering the footage so much, bit-depth and color accuracy becomes less crucial than what’s in the frame. Stock can be a great option in these scenarios; it just comes down to whether you trust your editor and colorist to execute the effects(we do).
Huge thanks to Ex Novo Brewing for lending us their wonderful space in Northeast Portland and Oregon Fruits for trusting us with this highly conceptual project.
